Tom Cruise recently surprised fans at a London movie premiere with a bold new hair color and height boosting shoes. The legendary actor stepped out with an updated style that quickly caught attention on the red carpet.

The 64 year old actor showed up on September 22 for the world premiere of his brand new movie called Digger. It is his first non action movie in almost a decade and people are really excited. The London event brought out famous faces to celebrate the night.

Tom talked on the New Heights podcast on September 18 about how getting ready required a tedious makeup routine. He explained that putting on the prosthetics initially took them six whole hours to finish. Sitting in a chair for that long sounds like an absolute nightmare for anyone.
Using a stopwatch to speed things
He decided he did not want to waste time so he brought a chalkboard and a timer to the room. He told his team they needed to get the routine under an hour and they practiced with timed drills. This funny strategy worked and they cut the transformation time down.
Dealing with the heat of prosthetics
Wearing all those fake pieces was not easy and he told GQ magazine this character was his most challenging ever. He was sweating heavily underneath the fat suit because the movie required really long takes. To fix the sweaty situation he used cooling machines just to survive the hot days on set.
