Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays fought against each other in the Game 1 of the World Series. The tense game looked like double play in the end game however, a video review overturned the situation for Rays, provided a chance to win. Brewers were leading 3-1 in the 9th inning, and they won the match. One of these franchises might be about to win their first World Series in a long time. Tonight will be a dramatic scene as Brewers hold the 1-0.
The tense play

The Brewers as defending team were winning with a 3-1 score in the 9th inning. The Rays on the other hand had three players on three different bases, which was a significant risk. With two more outs, Brewer could end this game on 3-1 note, however, they managed to put only one player out in this play. With two players out an a 3-2 score, Brewers are still on a risk.
The game changing review

The Brewers believe they had got two players out in the play, however, when umpires saw a video review, the player at second base had their footing off of the base, not counting that as an out. This single moment raised the stakes and now Brewers need one more out to win the game with Rays needing one more run to tie the match.
Megill’s finishing move

The next batter from Rays was DeLuca, the team still had 2 players at different bases, causing a wide spread tension towards victory. Trevor Megill as the pitcher achieve a strike out on DeLuca, winning the game for Brewers. With DeLuca out, 3 batters from Rays were out and Brewers won at the score of 3-2.
Milwaukee’s way to lead

The lead they built felt strategic and mapped out as they scored 2 runs in the first inning itself. Christian Yelich and William Contreras both hit an RBI then pitcher Martinez kept Brewers from scoring up till 5 innings. The third run came in the seventh inning.
Missed chances for Tampa Bay

In the first inning, Aranda and Chandler Simpson got back to back hits, however, Aranda strayed a bit too far from second base, resulting in double play. In the fifth inning, Victor Mesa Jr. took a big risk to steal the third base. In the sixth inning a double play was seen at once and in the ninth inning, Rays had all three players at the base yet they scored just once.
Match up not seen since 1980

The last time this kind of matchup was seen was in 1980. None of these franchises have won yet, so the winning team from either side will be a first time champion this season. It is essential that only three of all players in this series had appeared in a World Series before.
Milwaukee’s First Fall Classic Since 1982

The Brewers last appearance in a World Series was in 1982. They then lost to the St. Louis Cardinals as an American League team in 7 games. They switched to National League, after which they beat San Diego in a playoff of Division Series. Los Angeles Dodgers swept the Brewers out of the National League in a match and they came back to sweep them right out of the NL Championship Series. It is still considered as an immaculate revenge.
Tampa Bay’s Third Shot

The rays had reached their first World Series, losing to Philadelphia Phillies in 5 games in the year 2008. They returned in 2020 and lost to Los Angeles Dodger in 6 games. Yandy Diaz played in the 2020 with Rays, making him one of the only three players in the series with World Series Experience.
