Buc-ee’s is expanding its massive gas station, and road food empire with six new locations planned for 2027. The company is pushing hard to grow across the country. Let us look at where these giant new travel centers are heading next.
The big expansion plan
Buc-ee’s has already opened four new locations in 2026 including its westernmost spot in Arizona and the very first one in Ohio. Now the company announced this week that it will open six more locations in 2027 with even more expected in 2028 and later. It is a huge expansion push that will bring those famous beaver nuggets to lots of new road trip routes.
Forsyth Georgia location
Work has already begun on the new Buc-ee’s location in Forsyth and it is coming along nicely. When this massive store opens next year it will become the fourth Buc-ee’s in the state of Georgia. It seems like the South just cannot get enough of those clean bathrooms and endless snack aisles.
First store in Kansas
Kansas City will soon have the first ever Buc-ee’s in the state of Kansas. The brand new location is slated to open next year and they are reportedly already hiring workers to get things ready. This means midwestern road trippers will finally get to experience the sheer joy of a brisket sandwich at two in the morning.
Gallaway Tennessee store
Another spot on the 2027 list is Gallaway Tennessee which will give travelers another huge place to rest and refuel. The company is really focusing on busy highways where folks need a solid break from driving. You can expect this location to have all the classic food and beaver merchandise that fans completely obsess over.
Boerne Texas addition
Texas is where the whole Buc-ee’s craze started so it makes total sense that they are adding a new store in Boerne. Texans love their enormous gas stations and this 2027 opening will just add to the huge number of locations already in the state. You can never have too many gas pumps when you are driving across Texas.
Ruston Louisiana opening
The town of Ruston will get the very first Buc-ee’s in Louisiana when the new store opens its doors in 2027. Another location is currently being built in Lafayette but that one is not expected to finish until 2028 according to the company. Louisiana drivers are definitely in for a wild surprise when they see the actual size of these places.
Mebane North Carolina site
Mebane North Carolina is also getting one of the six stores expected to open in 2027. This location will bring the famous travel center experience right to the East Coast crowd who might not know exactly what to expect. It will be a perfect pit stop for anyone traveling up and down the coast next year.
Future Florida expansion
The company has been pushing hard to expand its reach in Florida with several new spots planned. One store that was meant to open in 2027 in Fort Pierce will instead have to open in 2028 according to WPEC. Another store is scheduled to open in Ocala in 2029 and The Hill reports a Tallahassee spot might happen if county leaders approve it.
Pushing further north
Beyond those six stores Buc-ee’s has expansion plans stretching deep into the Midwest and up north over the next decade. Construction has already started on what might become the northernmost store in Oak Creek Wisconsin and there is talk of a spot in Whitestown Indiana according to the Indianapolis Business Journal. They are even trying to open two new stores in Virginia and one in Springville Utah.
The location strategy
It is no coincidence that the expansion map focuses on certain areas because the CEO prefers to build in conservative and business friendly states. Arch Beaver Aplin III recently said that life is too short to build in places where people do not appreciate what the company is bringing. He likes places where the leadership supports a family oriented concept and that strategy seems to be guiding all these new locations.
