Apple is rumored to be announcing more products in the remaining week of October. It’s speculated that the new Macs are the most likely to be around this month, as well as a new OLED iPad mini, according to MacRumors, citing multiple sources. There’s no confirmation from Apple of any of it. Here is what the reports say.
What the Report Says
MacRumors reported on October 5 that Apple plans another batch of launches in the last week of October. The report does not give a date or confirm which products are included. It describes its list of Macs as the most likely possibilities rather than a confirmed lineup.
The October 13 Launch
The first wave is expected on October 13. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has reported that Apple will introduce its long-awaited smart home hub that day, alongside a new HomePod mini and an updated Apple TV 4K. The second wave would follow roughly two weeks later.
The MacBook Ultra
The headline Mac is a redesigned high-end MacBook Pro, reportedly called the MacBook Ultra. It is expected to use M6 Pro and M6 Max chips, an OLED display and touch input, in a thinner and lighter body. Some reports say it could slip into early 2027.
MacBook Pro and iMac
Two more routine updates are also in the frame. A base 14-inch MacBook Pro with the standard M6 chip is expected, along with a 24-inch iMac moving to M6. Reports suggest the iMac could also arrive in new colors, though that remains unconfirmed.
One Confirmed Mac
At least one Mac in that window is already official. Apple has said a high-end Mac Studio configuration with the M5 Ultra chip and 512GB of RAM will ship in late October. That places it squarely within the reported second wave.
The OLED iPad mini
The next iPad mini is expected to switch from LCD to OLED and use the A20 Pro chip. References in Apple’s own code also point to a landscape front camera and a new vibration-based speaker system, which reports link to improved water resistance.
Which Wave It Joins
It is not yet clear whether the iPad mini will launch on October 13 or with the Macs later in the month. Gurman has said it should go on sale by the end of October. The current model, with the A17 Pro chip, launched in October 2024.
Event or Press Release
Apple has not said whether the second wave will include an event. In October 2024, it announced M4 MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini models over several days through press releases and videos. A similar approach is possible this year, but nothing is confirmed.
